There exists interest in faith-based institutions and the progressive population in general throughout New York City to provide witness and compassionate companionship to those rounded up by the I.N.S. for deportation to their countries of origin, leaving behind families, jobs, unpaid debts, etc.  How to connect both documented and undocumented Americans to face such struggles?

    Half of the population involved in this equation often do not have on-line access. Others, including older New Yorkers who are often involved in social justice issues, may not be as Net savvy. Create a cellphone system that ties to land-based phones for emergency assistance for those at risk and volunteer opportunities for those who care.
